SURRENDER – CHILD’S POSE

This week it’s all about SURRENDER, but not in the general sense that surrendering may imply, for instance …

Ordinarily, we may hear of a battle or argument between 2 or more parties that is built around the forward momentum of egotistical power and a battle of wills. At some point, one may decide to stop engaging for whatever their reason and logic and call a truce; maybe they come to realise that their point is no longer valid, or maybe they understand that expelling all their energy for a cause that does not have a meaningful purpose is no longer a worthy or healthy fight, or clearly, they may have just run out of steam to continue on the fight. They give in to butting heads etc. and “surrender” themselves. This may give the other party the impression that they have then won the battle.

On the other hand, what I am speaking of here is more a personal battle that we may have within ourselves, more of a psychological and/or emotional struggle that is eroding our life energy, that takes our will and inner strength to task on a daily basis over a matter or concerns that can play heavily on our mind, and in the long run, take a toll on our greater health, both mentally and physically.

Noting the latter, it is this scenario that we need to keep in check regularly, as we do have complete power and choice over how we exercise our own thoughts and responses for our greater health and good.As you will read later (should you continue reading), Surrendering is not necessarily an act of “giving in”. On the contrary, surrendering can actually be one of the healthiest self-care gifts we can give to ourselves. Resisting and holding on to what does not serve us (Body, Mind, and Soul) only holds us back from moving forward – therefore further holding us back from realising and experiencing our own greater potential.

With love we surrender and “give up”, “release and let go”, of all those memories and experiences, thoughts, and behaviours, that once held power over us, harming and stealing us from our greater future and purpose.
